“Oh my”: Tottenham man shocked by what his Spurs teammate did earlier during 6-3 win

Earlier today, Tottenham defeated a K-League XI by a 6-3 scoreline, in what was a highly entertaining pre-season encounter.

Harry Kane scored twice, as did Heung-min Son, while Eric Dier also scored a thumping effort.

Jin-Hyuk Kim netted the other with an own-goal for the K-League XI.

After full-time, Son was asked about Dier’s goal, and it’s safe to say the South Korean was impressed.

What’s the story?

Well, Son compared the defender to Kane after seeing him smash in a left-footed screamer.

Speaking to Tottenham, the 30-year-old said: “Oh my God! Oh. My. God. Eric Dier turned up like Harry Kane’s left foot! Not my left foot, but Harry Kane’s left foot! I really liked it, Eric deserved it.”

Clearly, Son didn’t know Dier had that in his locker!

We’d be impressed if the England international had scored on his stronger right foot, but to rifle in such a powerful effort on his left side speaks volumes about his weak-foot ability.

Dier failed to score in 40 appearances last season, so he has seemingly been working to improve his goalscoring if his strike against the K-League XI is anything to go by.

Heung-min Son can fire Tottenham to silverware

In our view, Spurs will win a trophy next season.

Both Son and Kane are at the peak of their powers, under a serious coach in Antonio Conte who will ensure they – and their teammates – remain focused throughout the entire season.

For the first time in a while, the pair also have support, with the likes of Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison, Yves Bissouma and Ivan Perisic available to help maintain the push for silverware if they endure a spell of poor form.

Son, in particular, could even be the standout player in the Premier League next season, having just won his first Golden Boot in England.

After a full pre-season under the demanding Conte, we’re expecting Tottenham to start the campaign on fire.
