Speaking on the UMM YouTube channel, Peter Crouch has been waxing-lyrical about Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The former Reds striker was asked about if he’d like to play with Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson in this current England side, and it sounds as though he’d have loved to have played with the full-backs.
What’s been said?
Crouch was full of praise for Liverpool’s full-backs.
“Oh my god, that season when they were just on absolute fire when they won the league. Trent’s crossing is just ridiculous,” Crouch said.
The former Spurs man then spoke about the fact that full-backs are becoming more and more creative these days.
“It feels like width comes from full-backs now, I’m glad that I played in an era where wingers were wingers. Nowadays everyone wants to shoot and I feel like I’d be trying to get rebounds rather than actual deliveries.”

Imagine
Could you imagine if Crouch played with Alexander-Arnold.
The right-back is one of the best crossers of the ball in the world, and if he had a 6 foot 7 striker to aim for, he’d probably break some sort of record for assists.
Crouch was brilliant in the air, and Trent is a fantastic crosser. It looks like a match made in heaven, but sadly for Liverpool, their paths never crossed.
The idea of Alexander-Arnold and Crouch playing together is simply mouth-watering.
