Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after it was revealed that Jürgen Klopp would miss the Premier League clash with Chelsea.

What’s the story?

Well, Klopp has unfortunately tested positive for COVID-19, meaning he will not be on the touchline at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

Pep Lijnders will lead the Reds out in place of the German, in a game Liverpool really need to win if they want to remain in the title race.

After Manchester City’s 2-1 win over Arsenal, the Citizens are now 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League.

However, the Reds have two games in hand, so it’s not over yet.

Liverpool also announced that three staff members had tested positive along with Klopp, while there are also three cases among the players.

Due to confidentiality, Klopp was unable to reveal their identities.

Liverpool must beat Chelsea

Whether it’s thanks to a goal off Diogo Jota’s backside, Liverpool have to find a way to beat Chelsea tomorrow.

Manchester City are already pulling away at the summit of the Premier League, and things are about to become more difficult for Liverpool as Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Naby Keita jet off to the Africa Cup of Nations.

It really is a massive game, and one Liverpool will potentially look back on in May and think ‘what if’ should they not take all three points.

Of course, Klopp will be a huge miss, as he is constantly barking orders from the touchline and ensuring his side maintain their intensity.

However, Lijnders works with the players on a daily basis, so he’s surely well equipped to take the reins.

Whatever happens, the Reds simply can’t afford to lose this game.

For now, let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about Klopp…
