A number of Leeds United players reacted to Jack Clarke’s Instagram message as he earned his ‘first minutes’ in a Tottenham shirt yesterday.
Tottenham beat Ipswich 3-0 in a pre-season friendly, with Ryan Sessegnon and a Heung-Min Son brace ensuring Jose Mourinho’s side started preparations for the new season in a strong fashion.
Clarke came off the bench for the North London club, and albeit in an unofficial game, it was the first time he had represented the senior side.
He reacted on Instagram to his first unofficial appearance, with a number of his former teammates from Leeds reacting:
Jamie Shackleton stated: ‘Looking well son’. Whilst Olly Casey said: ‘Love to see it’. Phillips also added by saying: ‘Oh my god what’s he came as?’.
Clarke, who came through the ranks at Elland Road, joined Spurs last summer from Leeds after impressing during his breakthrough campaign under Marcelo Bielsa.
When Spurs snapped him up on a permanent basis, he went back to Yorkshire on-loan, but in January, he was sent to QPR because of a lack of game time at Elland Road.

It seems as though Mourinho is going to give the versatile winger a chance to impress and Clarke will be hoping to come up against his former club ahead of the new campaign if provided with that chance.
Whilst he wasn’t apart of it, there is no doubt that he would have been proud of how his former teammates and coaching staff returned back to the promised land after 16 years.
