Speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Illan Meslier has claimed that Steven Bergwijn has the most powerful shot he’s faced.

The Dutchman is more known for his pace and dribbiling ability, but according to Meslier, he has one hell of a shot on him.

Indeed, the Frenchman says that he took a shot from Bergwijn to the chest last season, and he says that it winded him.

What’s been said?

Meslier was asked about some of the best shooters in the Premier League.

“Were there any players who had a shot and you were just like ‘that is powerful?’” Meslier was asked.

“I think it was at Tottenham last season, I received a ball in the chest from Bergwijn, Oh my god, there was too much power, but I saved it somehow,” Meslier said.

Rocket

Bergwijn doesn’t get many shots off, but when he does connect sweetly, he has a real rocket of a shot.

Sadly, the Dutchman doesn’t get to show off this ability all that often, but don’t be surprised if he eventually scores an absolute scorcher for Spurs.

Tottenham have some fantastic ball strikers in their squad such as Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and even Lucas Moura, but according to Meslier, Bergwijn’s shots are the most frightening in the division.

Meslier has faced efforts from the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah, but Bergwijn stands out for

We’d love to see Antonio Conte give Bergwijn more license to shoot from range going forward.
