Some Tottenham Hotspur fans were quite unflattering in their criticism of Arsenal hitman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang last month.
The Arsenal striker showed off his new Travis Scott-inspired hairstyle, ditching the famous high-top cut.
Aubameyang has since reverted back to his old style, but Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has taken a leaf out of his book by adopting a new look it seems.
Steven Bergwijn uploaded a photo on Instagram this afternoon as Alli arrived to training at Hotspur Way with new dreadlocks on show.
And although some Tottenham fans weren’t mad about the Gunners star’s idea, a lot of other supporters are loving Alli’s reinvention.
Here’s what Spurs fans are saying on Twitter:
Another thing in common between Alli and Aubameyang is that the pair are having relatively poor seasons.
The Gabon international fired Arsenal to an FA Cup title in August but has only managed 14 goals in all competitions since, quite a poor return for his sky-high standards.
And as for Alli, well the Tottenham midfielder has also endured his worst season in North London after falling out of favour under Jose Mourinho, who was sacked by Daniel Levy last week.
We never got to see if Aubameyang’s hair inspired a reversal in fortunes because he was diagnosed with malaria and has barely played for Arsenal over the past month.
But it’ll be interesting to see if Alli’s haircut, combined with Mourinho’s absence, gives him a new lease of life on the white side of the North London divide.
Spurs, under caretaker boss Ryan Mason, have a tricky game against Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.
