Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter in disbelief after watching Trezeguet miss an absolute sitter against Brighton earlier today.

The Egypt international saw his initial effort blocked, before the ball rebounded back to him with the goal at his mercy.

However, in the 19th minute, the former Kasimpasa attacker skied his shot into the Villa Park terraces.

Had it gone in, Villa would’ve earned an equaliser against Graham Potter’s side.

The Villans did eventually get themselves level thanks to Ezri Konsa, although Brighton took the lead once again shortly after through Solly March’s strike.

There was late controversy as March tripped Trezeguet in the box, with Michael Oliver awarding Dean Smith’s side a penalty.

However, he later overturned his decision after checking VAR.

While that moment will undoubtedly infuriate the Villa supporters, a selection of them on Twitter seem equally as frustrated by Trezeguet’s miss.

In fairness to the £8.75 million man, he had a brilliant game aside from the 19th minute error.

The 26-year-old had seven shots, which was four more than any other player attempted. Trezeguet also completed two dribbles and a key pass, while also winning two aerial duels as WhoScored shows.

Let’s see what the Villa fans on Twitter have been saying about his miss…
