Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are set to renew hostilities on Sunday evening.

The Emirates Stadium plays host as Mikel Arteta’s side welcome the very in-form Spurs for a North London derby.

Tottenham are playing some cracking attacking football under Jose Mourinho right now and have netted 13 goals in their last four games across all competitions, with the resurgence of Gareth Bale – who has five of those strikes – a real talking point ahead of facing Arsenal again.

There isn’t much love lost between both sides for obvious reason and they’re often controversial affairs.

And the man charged with the task of keeping order at the Emirates is Michael Oliver.

But some Lilywhites fans aren’t overly keen on that appointment, it has to be said. Here’s how some Tottenham supporters reacted to this on Twitter after the Premier League announced it:

Oliver was the main man in charge of VAR duties for a couple of controversial incidents that went against Tottenham last season, including in the defeat by Sheffield United where Harry Kane had an equaliser chalked off.

According to World Football, Arsenal have only won one of the five derbies that Oliver has presided over – and the most recent one, last July, ended with Mourinho’s side winning 2-1.
