Leeds United fans have been left less than impressed by Ben White’s latest tweet.
White was part of Brighton’s team which beat Liverpool last night, and he was keen to praise his teammates, saying he has ‘never been prouder’ of a group of players.
But Leeds supporters suggested that White was overlooking their achievements of earning promotion from the Championship last season.
Measuring whether beating Liverpool at Anfield or earning promotion to the Premier League is a bigger achievement is practically impossible.
Both are clearly huge milestones in White’s career, and it is unlikely that the young defender meant any disrespect towards Leeds with his comments.
White has only ever spoken positively about his time at Elland Road with Marcelo Bielsa’s side, but it may be getting to the point where any return is looking unlikely.
Leeds pushed hard to sign White over the summer, but they were unable to agree a fee.
And with White seriously impressing in the Premier League this term, and signing a new contract with the Seagulls, he may well now be out of Leeds’ price-range in the future.
