Liverpool fans everywhere are keeping their fingers crossed today.
It was widely reported that the Reds centre-back Joe Gomez had suffered a ‘serious’ knee injury while training on international duty with England yesterday.
Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate revealed that he would definitely be absent for his country’s upcoming fixtures but claimed that it was too early to know the full extent of the injury, adding that it was an ‘upsetting’ spectacle to see.
Liverpool have already seen one defender ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee problem after Virgil van Dijk was injured by Jordan Pickford in the Merseyside derby last month.

Southgate also revealed that the Liverpool star was in agony and that the injury happened while nobody was on around him.
At this point, things really don’t look good for the 23-year-old and every fan of the Premier League champions will hoping for good news today at some point.
