Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter after finding one negative about Takehiro Tomiyasu, following his £16m move from Bologna.
What’s the story?
Well, the 23-cap Japan international completed his move to north London last night, signing a long-term contract with the Gunners.
Initially, it looked like a move with no negatives whatsoever.
Tomiyasu is able to play at centre-back or right-back, while his £16m fee isn’t exact going to break the bank for Arsenal.
Additionally, he is only 22, so he has plenty of time to improve.
However, the thing Arsenal fans are now worried about is his injury history.
As Transfermarkt shows, Tomiyasu has suffered a range of different issues since 2018.
The versatile defender has struggled with hamstring, calf and knee problems while at Bologna.
Arsenal fans shouldn’t worry about Takehiro Tomiyasu

In truth, Arsenal fans shouldn’t worry about this too much.
Yes, the range of injury is quite concerning. However, all of Tomiyasu’s issues saw him miss just 18 games since 2018, so it’s really not a big deal.
Furthermore, a player having a poor – or good – injury history elsewhere doesn’t always mean it’ll follow him to a new club.

Just look at Thomas Partey’s injury history before he joined the Gunners.
As Transfermarkt shows, he only missed six games for Atletico Madrid before joining Arsenal, where he has since missed 21.
Let’s see what the Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying about Tomiyasu’s injury history…
