Some Arsenal fans are upset by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s activity on Twitter.
The Gunners hitman drew a line under months of speculation about his future by signing a new three-year contract in North London a little earlier this month.
Aubameyang has netted 72 goals in 111 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions since arriving in January of 2018, making him arguably the most lethal striker in English football.
And although he is adored by the Emirates Stadium faithful, the 31-year-old ‘liked’ a tweet that has some angered some supporters.
Aubameyang ‘liked’ a post in French that suggested he was too good for Arsenal and that a move to Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Liverpool or Manchester City would’ve been more appropriate for a goalscorer of his talents.
Here’s how Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter:
Aubameyang is very social media savvy and he would’ve known that ‘liking’ the tweet would’ve caused uproar.
Then again, he may not necessarily have meant to offend the Arsenal fans.
After re-signing, the former Borussia Dortmund hitman claimed that the support was among the reasons why he decided to stay at the Emirates, so purposely offending them makes zero sense.
Still, all will probably be forgiven if he fires Mikel Arteta’s side to victory away to Liverpool tomorrow night.
