Iran are set to lodge an official complaint with FIFA due to the issues they have faced at the 2026 World Cup, they have confirmed in a statement.
Their tournament kicked off in the United States against New Zealand but there have been several problems to contend with both before and after that match.
Now, the Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI) have released a statement confirming plans to complain to FIFA.

Iran to complain to FIFA over World Cup treatment
During the tournament, Iran manager Amir Ghalenoei has said that his team were told ‘You have to leave immediately’ after their aforementioned draw with New Zealand.
Elsewhere, a team medic revealed problems Iran faced around their first World Cup game in the USA.
Now, as quoted by The Guardian, the FFIRI have outlined their plans to complain to FIFA.
In an official statement, they said: “The football federation of Iran believes that such restrictions are inconsistent with the principle of providing equal conditions for all participating teams and may negatively affect teams’ preparation processes.
“Consequently, the federation will formally express its dissatisfaction and lodge an official complaint with Fifa through the appropriate channels. Despite these limitations, Iran’s national team will continue its preparation program [sic] and remain fully focused on its upcoming match against Belgium.”
Iran are next in World Cup action against Belgium on Sunday, June 21, at the Los Angeles Stadium.
However, they have been told that they will only be permitted to arrive in LA 24 hours before that match.
The squad are not currently in the US, and are instead preparing for the match at their team base in Tijuana, Mexico.
It is a crucial game for the country, and a win would almost guarantee them a place in the Round of 32.
Should they finish second in their group and the US also qualify in second place from Group D, the two sides would meet in the first round of the knockout phase.
