Nice Sporting Director Julien Fournier has said that the club are on the verge of signing Morgan Schneiderlin from Everton in the summer transfer window, as quoted in Le10 Sport.

Fournier has said that Schneiderlin will complete the move to Nice from Everton, with the 30-year-old defensive midfielder having already passed his medical at the club.

Le10 Sport quotes Fournier as saying: “Morgan Schneiderlin should sign on Monday, he has passed his medical, we are waiting for Everton’s signature.”

Everton spell

Schneiderlin joined Everton from Premier League rivals Manchester United in January 2017 for an initial transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £20 million.

The France international has struggled to make an impact at the Toffees, although his 2019-20 campaign has been affected by injuries.

According to WhoScored, the former Southampton star has made 12 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League so far this season.

During the 2018-19 campaign, the Frenchman made 10 starts and four substitute appearances in the league, while in 2017-18, he played 30 times in the league for the Toffees, according to WhoScored.

Schneiderlin has not really been a success at Everton, and his departure would not be a big miss for the Toffees.
