Speaking to The Beautiful Game Podcast, Eddie Nketiah has claimed that offers were made for him in the January transfer window.
The striker’s contract is up in the summer, and as you can imagine, there were plenty of teams hoping to sign him for a cut-price fee in the January window.
Crystal Palace and Newcastle were both credited with an interest, and while Nketiah didn’t name specific clubs, he says that there were offers rejected in the winter.
What’s been said?
Nketiah spoke about whether or not he could have left in January.
“I think so, it was a transfer period, so anything could happen, I know there were teams interested and offers made, and offers were rejected, but I try not to, I’m aware of the interest, but I try not to get too hands on with those things, because they can affect you day to day, I have a good family and good agency around me, so I let them deal with things,” Nketiah said.

Had to stay
The ‘extraordinary‘ striker says that Arsenal rejected offers for him in January, and we can understand why.
Arsenal have something of a striker crisis on their hands at the moment, and after letting Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang go, they had next to no depth up top.
Yes, Nketiah may leave on a free this summer, but Arsenal needed to keep him for the second-half of this season.
The Gunners’ decision to keep hold of Nketiah has quickly been justified as Alexandre Lacazette is currently out of the team due to personal reasons.
