Some rival fans on Twitter believe that the next Tottenham Hotspur boss has just quit his job.

Christophe Galtier announced to L’Equipe on Tuesday afternoon that he was resigning as head coach of Lille.

This came just three days after Galtier led the Ligue 1 club to the title, defeating Mauricio Pochettino’s Paris Saint-Germain to the league crown.

Fabrizio Romano has previously reported that he was joining Nice, who have just finished ninth in the table.

But some non-Tottenham fans believe that his future lies in North London as Jose Mourinho’s replacement.

Interestingly, Galtier has been linked with a move to Spurs.

The Evening Standard claimed in April that he was among the managers on Daniel Levy’s shortlist to replace Jose Mourinho.

The search goes on for the Lilywhites in regards to Mourinho’s successor, with the likes of Brendan Rodgers and Julian Nagelsmann turning down the role.

Plenty of other big names have been linked, like Antonio Conte and Massimiliano Allegri, but the former Chelsea boss will reportedly stay at Inter Milan and the latter is said to be on Real Madrid’s shortlist of Zinedine Zidane replacements.

Tottenham could do a lot worse than Galtier – particularly after beating the club managed by Pochettino, their former coach – so it’ll be interesting to see if there’s a connection between the Frenchman’s resignation or not.
