Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Duncan Castles has shared what he’s been hearing about Daniel Levy’s role in transfers after Fabio Paratici’s arrival at Tottenham.
As you can imagine, Levy will be taking a step back on the transfer front after Paratici arrived as the club’s new Managing Director, but Levy will still have a part to play in terms of signings.
Indeed, while Levy won’t do any work in terms of identifying targets and making approaches, he will have to sanction the financial side of any transfer dealings.

What’s been said?
Castles has given the lowdown on Levy’s revised role at Tottenham, stating that all he will do now in terms of signings and departures is give the green light to the financial aspects of any transfers.
“They’re saying that he (Paratici) will be delegated responsibility over sporting operations and infrastructure, and off-record they’re saying all Levy will do is sanction the financial sides of deals, he won’t be driving these transfers anymore,” Castles said.
Good news
This sounds like the perfect set-up at Tottenham.
Daniel Levy is one of the best negotiators in world football, while Paratici has an eye for talent and an eye for a deal that many Directors of Football could only dream of having.
This sounds like something of a transfer dream team, and if everything goes to plan, Spurs could have a bright future ahead of them.
Of course, a lot of this is dependent on actual investment from the ownership, which, given the fact Tottenham are in a bit of a pickle financially, seems unlikely this summer, but whether or not they spend big does remain to be seen.
It seems as though Tottenham have a much better set-up behind the scenes after Paratici’s arrival.
