Fabinho has claimed on his Instagram story that he is faster than his Liverpool teammate, Joel Matip.
The defensive-minded midfielder was doing a Q/A on his Instagram account whilst on his holidays.
From sharing that Liverpool left-back, Konstantinos Tsimikas, is his ‘idol’ and ‘so good’, he also opened up on other matters.
And when he was asked by a supporter, ‘who’s faster you or Joel?’
He responded with this simple message: “Of course, it’s me,” added with a smiling emoji.
In truth, it’s not saying much that Fabinho thinks he is quicker than Matip because they are probably some of the slowest players at the club.
In terms of being the slowest, that race would probably be between them and someone like Rhys Williams.
But these players aren’t in the Liverpool team to beat the Jamie Vardy’s to a foot race.
They have the defensive intelligence, positional play and calmness to see off some of the best attackers in the world with other qualities.
And when the new Premier League season starts, they will want to display that once again, as Liverpool push to take the title off Manchester City.
