Speaking in the latest edition of FourFourTwo Magazine (June 2022, page 38), Mohamed Salah has been discussing his eventual departure from Liverpool.
Salah is one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s history, but sadly, all great things have to come to an end, and Salah will not be at Anfield forever.
The Egyptian’s future has been a hot topic in recent months as his contract enters its final year, and while there has been no conclusion on that front, Salah says that it will be a very sad day when he eventually leaves the Merseyside club.
What’s been said?
Salah spoke about his eventual departure.
“To play in that atmosphere and see the fans always behind me – I have banners in the stadium, two or three, and they’re always singing my song, so it’s going to be a really sad moment,” Salah said.

Wants to stay
There has been so much speculation about Salah and his contract, but this doesn’t sound like a player who is angling for a move away from Anfield.
The fact that Salah says he’ll be very sad to leave the club indicates that he knows just how good he has it at Liverpool, and he’s never been shy to admit that playing for the Reds under Jurgen Klopp is a dream.
Indeed, Salah has stated in the past that if it were up to him he would retire at Anfield, and if Liverpool cough up the cash, then he shouldn’t have to leave the club.
However, as Salah says, he will have to leave one day, and when he does eventually play his last game for the Reds, it will be a very sad day indeed.
