Jannik Vestergaard has been speaking to Tipsbladet about Tottenham’s interest in his services, amid reports that have emerged from Denmark.
Danish news outlet BT claimed that Tottenham are keen to sign Pierre-Emile Højbjerg’s international teammate from fellow Premier League side Southampton.
Now, the £18 million colossus has spoken out about Tottenham’s interest.
Tipsbladet quote the 28-year-old as saying: “I can only say that, of course, it’s always a pat on the back with stories of interest from other big clubs, but right now I have a contract with Southampton. So, it’s not something I can talk about.”
Now, Vestergaard certainly keeps his cards close to his chest here, although he doesn’t entirely rule a move to north London out of the equation.

The 20-cap Denmark international has a contract at St Mary’s until June 30th 2022, so Southampton could have a decision to make this summer.
If Vestergaard informs the Saints that he will not be renewing his deal, then surely Ralph Hasenhuttl will cash in on him, rather than lose him for free next year.
In that respect, he’s a good target for Tottenham to pursue – for that reason as well as others.

Vestergaard would arrive at Hotspur Way with plenty of top-flight experience under his belt in England’s top-flight.
Southampton’s No.4 has made 63 Premier League appearances since arriving from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2018.
He’s kept 14 clean sheets, while scoring four goals – three of which have come in this season’s Premier League campaign.
