Despite leaving Celtic on a sour note, Moussa Dembele has retained an affinity for his former club, says Odsonne Edouard.

Moussa Dembele of Celtic celebrates his 2nd goal during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Celtic and Rangers on September 10, 2016 in Glasgow.

Odsonne Edouard has revealed to The Scottish Sun that Moussa Dembele still monitors Celtic news and results in spite of his acrimonious exit from the club in August.

The 22-year-old left Celtic to join in a £20 million move this past summer [The Mirror].

His departure came on the back of a training-ground row with Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers, before Dembele took subtle shots at the Northern Irishman on Twitter for reneging on promises.

It was quite a sour end to what had been an excellent two-year spell at Parkhead following a £500,000 move from Fulham, with the French striker firing Celtic to back-to-back domestic trebles.

But according to Bhoys star and Dembele’s compatriot Edouard, the Lyon ace still likes to be kept abreast of the goings-on back in Glasgow.

He told The Scottish Sun: “Me and Moussa always keep in touch. He is my friend so I am always going to keep in contact with Moussa. That is natural.

“Moussa still keeps up to date with all the Celtic matches and results. He asks after everyone here and keeps in contact with me because we are friends.”

Dembele, who has scored three goals in six Ligue 1 starts this season, appeared to confirm Edouard’s comments by ‘liking’ the news story on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Celtic, who have scored 24 goals in their last seven games, haven’t missed Dembele all that much, with Edouard netting eight in all competitions this season.

Moussa Dembele celebrates his 2nd goal (Celtic's 4th) with Scott Sinclair during the Betfred Cup Semi-Final at Hampden Park on October 21, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.
