The French striker is thoroughly enjoying himself in Glasgow, despite reports he was eager to join Monaco.
Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard has reassured supporters he is happy at the club, speaking to French newspaper L’Equipe (09/09 print edition, page 13).
It was claimed by L’Equipe last week (05/09 print edition, page 10) that the striker was interested in a summer move to Ligue 1 side Monaco.
The move didn’t materialise, with the outlet believing that it was the cash rich club that pulled out of the potential deal.
However, it would be understandable for Hoops fans to be concerned about his current status given the apparent behind the scenes saga during the transfer window.
Edouard has emerged as a player who has a case to be considered as the finest in the entire Scottish Premiership.
Going by his comments this week though, it appears he is as happy as ever at the club.
Asked about his current form, as quoted by L’Equipe (09/09 print edition, page 13), the striker said: “It’s normal to score, I’m an attacker.
“At Celtic, there is a lot of pressure, you have to come see a game to realise the atmosphere. I got used to it and I enjoy it thoroughly.”
Strength to strength
The most exciting thing for Celtic fans when it comes to Edouard is he gives a constant impression he has yet to even give his best to the Hoops.
He’s improving all the time.
When you consider what he has already achieved at the club, what he can potentially do this season is frightening to consider.
Already scoring six goals and assisting five times in 11 appearances, he looks well on his way to bettering his 23-goal tally of last term.
It’s his all-round performances that are really setting him apart though.
He’s grown into a striker who is not only an accomplished finisher but also excellent at offering physicality up against defenders and bringing his teammates into the game around him.
Manager Neil Lennon is driving the Frenchman’s game to new heights and if the club can keep him happy and eager to stay at Celtic Park then they can pick the best moment to move him on for massive profit.
It appears he has plenty more to give in Scotland first though.
