Odsonne Edouard signed a permanent contract with Celtic only in the summer transfer window, but the 20-year-old forward seems to be planning his long-term future away from the Hoops already.
Edouard spent the 2017-18 campaign on loan at Celtic from French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
The Hoops made the deal permanent in the summer of 2018 for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £9 million.
The 20-year-old became Celtic’s record signing, and the forward has established himself as the main striker in manager Brendan Rodgers’s team.
Edouard, though, has suggested that his ambition lies away from Celtic, as quoted in The Scottish Sun.
The Scottish Sun quotes Edouard as saying: “My football ambitions are to play for France, play for a very, very big European club and win the Champions League.”
Celtic exit
Edouard is only 20 years of age, and it is hard to see the Frenchman stay at Celtic for the rest of his career.
It is only logical that if the former France Under-19 international forward plays well for the Hoops in the next two or three years, then Celtic will cash in on him and make a huge profit.
Celtic are not going to win the Champions League anytime soon, and Edouard’s lofty ambitious are not going to be fulfilled at Celtic Park.
