Speaking on Arsenal’s Twitter page, Martin Odegaard has named Sergio Ramos as one of the hardest defenders he’s ever come up against.
Odegaard has faced off against some of the world’s best defenders during his time in La Liga and with Norway, but his former Real Madrid teammate is one of the hardest he’s ever faced.
Back in July, Sergio Ramos signed a two-year deal with Paris Saint-Germain, rejecting a contract offer worth £280,000-a-week from Arsenal according to Goal.
In another world, Odegaard and Ramos could have teamed up at Arsenal.

Odegaard was asked who the toughest defender he’s ever come up against is.
“That’s a hard one. I have to mention of course Sergio Ramos, I played against him a couple of times in Spain, and also van Dijk, I played against him with the national team, so those two maybe, they were tough,” Odegaard said.
All-time great
It’s not surprising to see Ramos’ name mentioned here. After all, he is an all-time great.
Four Champions League titles, a World Cup, two European Championships and five La Liga titles – the Spaniard has a CV that very few players can contend with.
Ramos is certainly a tough customer and even though Odegaard was actually his teammate for the majority of the time, he still says he’s one of the best he’s played against.
We can only imagine what Ramos would have brought to Arsenal if he had accepted their offer over the summer.
