Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has raved about Martin Odegaard on BBC Sport following his performance against Burnley at the weekend.

Arteta has said that Odegaard glues Arsenal together and has outlined how hard he works for the team.

The Arsenal boss has said that the 22-year-old attacking midfielder, signed on a permanent contract from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, fights for every ball and is becoming a leader.

Odegaard scored a brilliant free-kick goal for Arsenal against Burnley in the Premier League this past Saturday.

The Gunners won 1-0 at Turf Moor.

Arteta told BBC Sport about Odegaard, as transcribed by TheBootRoom: “You can see what he did in the first-half in terms of his quality and how he glues the team together.

“He finds pockets, and final balls and then his work-rate. His work-rate is incredible, he fights for every ball, he is becoming a real leader in the team.”

Big player for Arsenal

Odegaard is a very good and creative player who has established himself as an important figure in the Arsenal team.

The 22-year-old knows that he is a key creative outfit for the team, and the Norway international does his work perfectly.

Odegaard may be only 22, but he is already hugely experienced.

The youngster has played 33 times already for Norway.

It shows just how mature a player Odegaard is, and he is only 22.

Odegaard has scored one goal in three Premier League appearances for Arsenal so far this season.
