The Newcastle-linked Arsenal man could end up at West Ham United or Everton this summer, according to the bookies.

Popular bookmakers BETVICTOR have installed the Hammers and the Toffees as new 4/1 second favourites in the race to sign Gunners defender Calum Chambers.

The 22-year-old spent the entirety of this season on loan at Middlesbrough, and although the Teessiders endured a miserable campaign on the whole, Chambers was part of a defence that conceded the fewest goals inside the bottom half of the Premier League table.

The former Southampton man has already earned three caps for England, but has failed to assert himself in the Arsenal team since moving to the Emirates from St Mary’s for £16 million in July 2014.

Whether he still has a future in north London remains unclear, and BETVICTOR list him at 3/1 to join Newcastle United, after reports linking him with a switch to St James’ Park emerged last month (the Chronicle).

The bookies now reckon that West Ham and Everton have entered the race for the Arsenal youngster, however, cutting both clubs into 4/1 second favourites.

With Slaven Bilic and Ronald Koeman both looking to add a young defender to their ranks this summer, a move for Chambers would seem to make sense, but much will depend on how important Arsene Wenger deems him to be to his future plans.

And with the opening of the transfer window just around the corner, this will certainly be one to keep a close eye on.
