Odds update: West Ham 4/1, Everton 6/1 to sign Bas Dost

West Ham United and Everton trail Newcastle United in the race to sign the Sporting ace, according to the bookies.

Popular bookmakers SkyBET have released odds on where they believe Sporting Lisbon hitman Bas Dost will end up this summer, listing the Hammers and the Toffees as second and third favourites respectively to obtain his signature.

The Dutchman was in sensational form for his club last term, scoring an incredible 34 goals in 31 league outings.

The giant 6ft 5 in striker has already attracted interest from Newcastle United this summer, according to A Bola, with the Tyneside outfit reportedly making a £35 million offer for the 28-year-old.

And SkyBET still make the Magpies 11/4 favourites to sign Dost, although they have cut West Ham into 4/1 and Everton into 6/1 to win the race for the Sporting star’s signature.

The Netherlands international will not come cheap though, with A Bola claiming that any club who wants to sign him will have to meet his release clause, which currently stands at a staggering £53 million.

And whilst it could be argued that all three clubs mentioned are in need of another striker, for that kind of money, they would surely be better off looking for a cheaper alternative.
