The Hull City ace is a key transfer target for Burnley, but Swansea City now lead the race to sign him, according to the bookies.
Popular bookmakers SkyBET have listed the Swans as the new favourites in the race to sign Tigers midfielder Sam Clucas, ahead of Newcastle, Burnley and West Brom.
Despite Hull’s disappointing Premier League campaign last season, the 26-year-old shone on a consistent basis, but unfortunately for the Humberside outfit, his fine performances did not go unnoticed.

Burnley are thought to be one of the leaders in the race to sign Clucas, with BBC Sport claiming that they had a £10 million bid for him rejected by the Tigers today.
So it will perhaps come as somewhat of a surprise, given the lack of links, to see SkyBET listing Swansea as the new 13/8 favourites in the race to obtain the Hull man’s signature, with Newcastle at 11/2, Burnley at 6/1 and West Brom at 7/1.
With Gylfi Sigurdsson’s move to Everton now close to completion, according to Sky Sports, Paul Clement will obviously be looking to bolster his midfield options, and the addition of Clucas would be a useful one, albeit a little underwhelming, as far as Swansea fans are concerned.
The Tigers midfield ace will not come cheap though, if Clement is to bring him to the Liberty Stadium.
