Chelsea lead Liverpool in the race to sign the Leicester City man, according to the bookies.
Popular bookmakers SkyBET have installed the Blues as the new favourites ahead of the Reds in the race to sign Foxes winger Riyad Mahrez.
The 26-year-old is desperate to leave Leicester this summer, but the east Midlands outfit are proving to be no pushovers, standing firm on their £50 million asking price of the Algerian, according to the Telegraph.
Mahrez was sensational for the Foxes during their 2015/16 Premier League title-winning campaign, scoring 17 goals and chipping in with 11 assists in 37 league outings.
His performances dropped massively during the following season, but he is still very much a highly sought-after commodity.
And SkyBET believe that Chelsea are lading to the race to sign Mahrez, making them 2/1 favourites to bring him to Stamford Bridge, ahead of previous front-runners Liverpool at 5/1.
With just 10 days remaining until the transfer window slams shut, this will certainly be one to keep an eye on, and with the west London outfit’s history of wrapping up big-money deals in an efficient manner, it would be no surprise to see the Leicester ace plying his trade with Chelsea before the month’s end.
