Popular bookmakers SkyBET have updated their odds for the race for promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.

Brighton and Hove Albion and Newcastle are considered to be as good as promoted already by the bookies, but the play-off race is still very much on.

Huddersfield Town currently sit in third position, followed by Reading, Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday and Fulham.

The Terriers have been the Championship’s surprise package this season, and it will come as no shock to anyone that they are SkyBET‘s favourites to gain promotion via the play-offs at 2/1.

Following Good Friday’s results there has been a shift in the odds, however, with the Owls overtaking their Yorkshire rivals Leeds as second favourites on the list at 100/30.

The Whites are only just behind at 7/2, ahead of Fulham at 4/1 and Reading at 9/2.

It is still so tough to call, but with just four games remaining in the Championship season, crunch time is fast approaching.

And one game in particular stands out as a potential decider, with Wednesday playing host to the Cottagers on the final day of the season.

The Championship has been renowned for producing the unexpected over the years, however, and it would take a brave man to predict the outcome of this season’s race for promotion.
