Huddersfield Town were leading the race to sign the Arsenal star, but West Ham are now the bookies’ front-runners.

Popular bookmakers SkyBET have dramatically slashed the odds on the Hammers winning the race to sign Gunners star Jack Wilshere, installing the east Londoners as the new favourites.

The 25-year-old Arsenal star has endured a torrid time with injuries over the past three years, making just 32 Premier League starts throughout that period.

The England international seems to be back on track now, however, after making 22 league starts for Bournemouth last season during a loan spell with the Cherries, and if he can remain fit, he would surely prove to be a fantastic signing for whichever club manages to obtain his signature.

With so many talented midfielders at Arsene Wenger’s disposal at the Emirates, Wilshere’s future with the Gunners seems uncertain to say the very least.

And SkyBET believe that he could be plying his trade at the London Stadium next term. They make West Ham favourites to sign the Arsenal star, cutting them in from 5/1 to 5/6, whilst previous favourites Huddersfield Town have drifted out to 6/1 from 5/2.

The Arsenal star’s class when in possession, and technical ability would be a massive asset to the Hammers next term, should they manage to sign him.

The London Evening Standard claimed earlier this year that the West Ham board were prepared to part with £30 million to secure Wilshere’s services, and whilst that represents a fair risk, what with his less-than impressive injury record, it could be made to look like quite the coup, if the Englishman goes on to showcase his true talents on a regular basis.
