The Chelsea ace would be a sensational signing for Liverpool.

Popular bookmakers SkyBET have installed the Reds as shock outsiders in the race to sign Blues hitman Diego Costa this summer.

The Spain international is almost certain to leave Stamford Bridge during the transfer window, after being deemed surplus to requirements by Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.

The 28-year-old joined the Blues from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2014, for a fee believed to be in the region of £32 million, and proved himself to be nothing other than an absolute resounding success for the west London outfit right from his first game for the club.

He has scored 52 goals in 89 Premier League outings for Chelsea, and will obviously be a huge asset to whichever club manages to win the race for his signature this summer.

And SkyBET believe that his next destination almost certainly lies away from Stamford Bridge. They list AC Milan as 6/4 favourites, ahead of PSG at 6/1.

It is the third favourites on the list that is a real shock, however, with Liverpool coming in at 7/1 to sign Costa with SkyBET.

Whilst it seems unlikely that Chelsea would consider selling the Spaniard to the Merseyside outfit, stranger things have happened in football, and if Jürgen Klopp can find a way to make it happen, it could turn out to be a title-winning signing for the Reds.
