Popular bookmakers BETVICTOR have installed the Black Cats as 6/1 third favourites in the race to sign Hoops left-back Kieran Tierney.
The 19-year-old has really impressed for Celtic this season, showing maturity beyond his years, and has made 22 appearances in all competitions for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
His displays have been of such a high standard that he has garnered attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Arsenal.
And BETVICTOR make the Gunners 2/1 favourites to win the race for the young Scot’s signature, ahead of Manchester United at 3/1.
They somewhat surprisingly have Sunderland as third favourites to sign Tierney, however, at 6/1.
Surely David Moyes’ chances of bringing him to the Stadium of light will depend heavily on his ability to keep the Black Cats in the Premier League this season though.
And with Sunderland currently seven points adrift of safety, that seems like a tall order.
The signing of someone with Tierney’s potential would be a major coup for the Wearside outfit, however, if they managed to pull it off, and would be a sign of their intent for the future.
