West Ham United are expected to be busy in the transfer market this month.

Popular bookmakers SkyBet have have installed the Hammers as 7/1 third favourites in the race to sign out-of-favour Leicester City striker Leonardo Ulloa.

The Argentine has fallen down the striking pecking order at the King Power Stadium, and has been heavily linked with an exit from the club this month.

SkyBet still list Swansea City as favourites at 5/1, followed by Sunderland at 6/1, but have slashed the odds on Slaven Bilic’s men winning the race to sign Ulloa, and cut them into 7’s.

West Ham’s search for a striker has been extensive over the past couple of seasons, but they have still failed to find a forward of sufficient quality to compete with the likes of Andy Carroll.

Whilst Ulloa would undoubtedly be a good addition to the Hammers squad, it is debatable whether his presence would dramatically improve the quality of the starting line-up.

The Foxes rejected a plethora of bids for the 30-year-old in the summer, but with just 18 months left to run on his current deal with the club, they will be more inclined to sell this month.
