Manchester United are the bookies favourites to sign the Leicester City stopper.
Leicester City’s Kasper Schmeichel
Popular bookmakers SkyBET have installed Manchester United as the favourites in the race to sign Leicester City goalkeeper Kapser Schmeichel.
The Danish stopper was sensational for the Foxes last term, during their incredible Premier League title wining campaign, but hasn’t quite reached those superb heights this season, partly down to a succession of niggling injuries.
Jose Mourinho already has arguably the best goalkeeper in the world at his disposal in David de Gea, but rumours of a move to Real Madrid for the Spaniard never seem to go away.
If that were ever to happen, and it is certainly not entirely outside the realms of reality, United would obviously have to sign another top class ‘keeper.
And SkyBET have installed them as the new 3/1 favourites to win the race for Schmeichel, ahead of Real Madrid at 6/1 and Liverpool at 7/1.
The 30-year-old’s father Peter famously played for United, winning five Premier League titles, three FA Cups and a Champions League during his time with the club.
And wouldn’t it be a fantastic story to see Kasper emulate his dad between the sticks at Old Trafford, for United fans at least.
