Sky Bet have released odds on Andy Carroll’s next club – and cut Newcastle United’s within hours.

Newcastle were 12/1 to re-sign the West Ham United striker this morning [Tuesday], but as of mid-afternoon the Magpies are now 4/1 front-runners.

Rafa Benitez’s side are believed to be in the market for a new centre forward this summer, with Michy Batshuayi and Kelechi Iheanacho the latest to be linked with moves to St James’ Park.

But West Ham are also said to fancy the pair, and it’s plausible they could sell Carroll to fund a move for either player.

The 28-year-old scored seven goals in 18 Premier League appearances this past campaign, but once again spent much of it on the sidelines.

Provided Newcastle and West Ham are both willing, a return to his native north east and, in particular, the club at which he began his career is sure to appeal to Carroll, especially after last November’s attempted armed robbery which occurred close to the Hammers’ training ground.

No other club comes close to Newcastle on Sky Bet’s list of potential destinations for Carroll, with China [14/1], Everton [22/1] and Leicester City [25/1] also featured.
