West Ham United boss David Moyes has told Sky Sports that ‘everybody knows’ how entertaining Leeds United are.
West Ham came up against Leeds last night and they won 2-0 at the London Stadium.
However, the scoreline doesn’t tell the entire story of the contest.
Leeds caused West Ham problems throughout, with Moyes’s side failing to really find top form.
And Moyes admits that Leeds’ style was one of the major reasons why West Ham found the game so difficult.
“Not a good performance by our standards, the players are disappointed with how they’ve performed,” he said.
“But Leeds United do a lot to you. They make it difficult for you to play.
“Obviously you have to get into a game with them, which can be difficult.
“You need your forward players to play well, retain the ball and make simple things happen, and I just didn’t think we did that well enough tonight.
“Because of Leeds [we struggled]. That’s why this game is on tonight because everybody knows that Leeds are a really good watch and will always challenge every team with the style that they play.”
In the end, the difference between the two sides was West Ham’s ruthlessness in both boxes.
When West Ham were presented with an opportunity they took it, and they refused to give Leeds many easy chances.
Bielsa’s men, on the other, gave away a penalty and conceded from a set-piece – with their finishing also profligate.
West Ham have now moved up to fifth after their victory, while Leeds sit in 11th place.
