Leeds United are not willing to pay more than £4 million for Huddersfield Town midfielder Lewis O’Brien, according to The Athletic.
What’s the story?
The Athletic have reported that Leeds are interested in signing O’Brien from Huddersfield in the summer transfer window.
The Championship club are willing to sell the 22-year-old midfielder, but they are looking for at least £8 million for the youngster.
Leeds value O’Brien at £4 million and are not planning to pay any more.
The report has added that neither Leeds nor Huddersfield are willing to budge from their respective position.
Leeds think that they ‘do not need O’Brien enough to make the extra money worth paying’.

Could a Leeds transfer happen now?
Just days remain before the summer transfer window closes.
It does seem unlikely that a transfer will happen now.

If Leeds have not been eager to make the deal happen until now, then it is unlikely that they will eat humble pie and cough up the extra £4 million needed to sign O’Brien.
However, if O’Brien pushes for a transfer to Leeds, then a deal could well be struck in the final days of the window.
After all, Huddersfield would not want to keep a player if he wants to leave.
Moreover, anything is possible when the transfer window is open.
