The West Ham United midfielder has struggled for consistency this season but now looks vastly improved.

West Ham United midfielder Mark Noble is arguably the most divisive player in the Hammers’ squad, attracting adoration and anger in equal measure.

Earlier this season there was no doubt he was playing well below his best, offering little alongside Cheikhou Kouyate in the centre of the park. However, the introduction of Pedro Obiang into West Ham’s starting line-up has ensured we are now seeing the Noble of old…even if some supporters still struggle to see it.

Obiang’s presence has allowed Noble more time to do what he does best, and while there is no doubt much of his good work goes unnoticed, he has certainly upped his game in the eyes of all but the fiercest of critics.

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic waited a long time before putting his faith in Obiang. However the Spaniard has not only impressed with his performances, he has also allowed those around him to focus on their own games and excel as a consequence.

It is no coincidence that West Ham’s upturn in form has coincided with the midfield partnership of Noble and Obiang and the longer they stay together the higher the Hammers are likely to climb.
