Nuno Espirito Santo didn’t get a lot of things right at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Portuguese manager was hired by Spurs and received his marching orders by late October following a disastrous run of form in North London.

However, Nuno was certainly right in wanting to sign Jeremy Doku for Tottenham.

Last August it was reported by French publication Jeunes Footeux that Nuno wanted to the Rennes sensation for the Lilywhites.

Unfortunately for Tottenham – and their then-manager – a transfer never materialised.

But Nuno is right because Doku is a bonafide rising star, evident by his placing in Four Four Two‘s list of football’s 50 most exciting teenage footballers.

According to that list, the 19-year-old – valued at £43 million – is the world’s 16th best player under the age of 20.

Doku edged out some pretty major competition, like Tottenham academy graduate Noni Madueke – who is now at PSV Eindhoven – and Arsenal’s Charlie Patino for instance.

The Belgian prospect is likely to have a rip-roaring career in football and honestly, joining Spurs isn’t out of the equation yet.

If he was pulling some serious numbers in Ligue 1 then your usual suspects – PSG, Manchester City, Real Madrid – would be getting heavily linked to him.

However, one goal in nine Ligue 1 outings this season indicates that he could possibly be attainable.

Joining Tottenham under Antonio Conte is far more appealing than signing under Nuno, given the disparity in managerial achievements.

But one thing is for sure – the list validates Nuno wanting him at Hotspur Way.
