Wolverhampton Wanderers are sitting pretty at the top of the Championship table.
Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s superb 2-1 away win at Middlesbrough yesterday, and shared how he noticed the fans’ appreciation for the way in which his side worked at the Riverside, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Black Country outfit maintained their six point lead over second placed Cardiff, and perhaps more importantly, their 13 point lead over third placed Fulham.
Wolves fans must be delighted with what they have seen this season, with their side not only playing the best football but also showing incredible passion and fight on a weekly basis.
Nuno spoke to reporters after his side’s hard-fought win last night, and shared how he noticed the fans’ appreciation for the manner in which his side battled at the Riverside, as quoted by the club’s official website:
“We work for our fans. I was looking at them and seeing them celebrating what they saw – a team that fights for the ball every minute of the game. The victory is for them, we work for them, and the celebrations with them were very, very important.”
Next up for Wolves is a home game against Hull City on Tuesday before the big one against Cardiff City on Friday night, and a return of six points from those games could seal promotion back to the top flight, should results elsewhere go their way.
