Wolverhampton Wanderers were too good for Ipswich Town in the end.
Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s hard-fought 1-0 win over Ipswich Town yesterday, and commended his players for grinding out what was an extremely tough victory against Mick McCarthy’s men, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Black Country outfit currently sit comfortably at the top of the Championship table, and now hold a seven point lead over second placed Cardiff City, after Neil Warnock’s men were beaten away at Bolton Wanderers yesterday.
The Portuguese deserves great credit for the manner in which he has gone about his business at Molineux since taking over in the summer.

The 43-year-old has injected a much needed boost of confidence into his players, and built a squad with solid foundations based on unity and commitment, with a large side of flair.
Nuno spoke to reporters after his side’s win over the Tractor Boys yesterday, and pointed out that he was well aware of how difficult the game would be for his players, as were they, as quoted by Wolves.co.uk:
“It was a tough game and a deserved win. I knew that it was going to be a tough game, the boys knew that it would be tough and they played knowing that. The work that they’ve done especially in the second half was fantastic and I thought we controlled the game.”
Next up for Nuno’s men is a trip to Millwall on Boxing Day, and that will be another test of their character, with the Lions’ notoriously vociferous home support cheering their side on.
