Willy Boly received his second Premier League red card as Wolverhampton Wanderers lost 3-2 at Goodison Park – Nuno Espirito Santo wasn’t happy.

Nuno Espirito Santo has warned Willy Boly to avoid a repeat of his red card at the end of Wolverhampton Wanderers dramatic 3-2 defeat at Everton, speaking to the Birmingham Mail.

The usually reliable Frenchman had an afternoon to forget at Goodison Park. He was out-jumped by Richarlison as the Everton number seven headed home a dramatic winner, his second of the game, with just 10 minutes to go.

And Boly compounded a miserable outing with a second yellow card in stoppage time.

It would be no exaggeration to suggest this was one of his worst performances since moving to England from Porto in the summer of 2017. Boly, after all, is not often beaten in the air and he has only ever been sent off once before in Wolves colours.

Though Nuno is keen to ensure this does not become a trend.

“I’m not upset with him. Everybody makes mistakes. What is important is that you know what you did and don’t do it again,” he said.

Wolves have not tasted victory yet in the new Premier League season, picking up three points from a possible 12. Clearly, Nuno’s rather small squad has been stretched by a gruelling Europa League qualification campaign.

The test now is whether Wolves have the capacity to balance domestic and continental exploits over the coming months with a two-leg victory over Torino sealing their place in the Europa League group stage.
