Nuno Espirito Santo has claimed that the Tottenham players ‘didn’t even try’ to make him sing an initiation song as they attempted with Jose Mourinho, as he told Soccer AM.
The Spurs boss, who replaced Mourinho in the dugout this summer, was asked about whether he did an initiation song when he first joined and how he wouldn’t do it because his singing is ‘terrible’.
It’s the norm in football for players to do an initiation song when they join a club, or even at times, if they are being promoted from the younger age groups to the senior squad.
It seems as though the Tottenham players tried to do just that when Mourinho first joined.
But Nuno made it clear that his players didn’t even attempt him to get up and sing a song for them, this is what he was first asked.
“When Jose was at the club, the boys tried to make him get up and sing an initiation song,” said Tubes. “Did they do the same with you?”
Nuno responded: “They didn’t even try. Probably, I would do it. No, I wouldn’t do it, for sure. My singing is terrible.”

Nuno needs the Tottenham players dancing to his tactical beat because things are starting to go wrong.
His move to play Harry Kane out on the left during their defeat to Chelsea over the weekend is one that backfired massively.
Many Spurs fans will be expecting their star man to return to his central role, as they face-off against Wolves in the EFL Cup tonight.
Dele Alli’s penalty was enough for the North London club to seal all three points at Wolves last month, and more of the same will be welcome ahead of a big week for the club.
