Wolves boss knows Leicester City striker very well, who has been tipped to move on.

Wolves have shown already in 2017 that their pulling power in the transfer market is a force to be reckoned with, and with Premier League football likely on offer next season, they can continue to be ambitious this January.

New manager Nuno Santo has been a big asset to the club so far, and he will surely be alerted by reports Leicester City forward Islam Slimani is up for sale.

The Sun reported earlier this month that Slimani could be sold just 18 months after his £30 million move to Leicester, after struggling to hold down a regular starting spot under Claude Puel.

Nuno Santo knows exactly what Slimani is capable of, having been on the receiving end on several occasions.

Slimani earned the nickname of the ‘Dragon Slayer’ in Portugal after repeatedly helping Sporting overcome Santo’s Porto, scoring five goals in three games against them.

And it was no surprise last season when Slimani netted for Leicester against Porto in their Champions League clash.

Now at Wolves, Santo should be looking at this as an opportunity to bring his nemesis on board, having already managed to attract top stars like Diogo Jota and Ruben Neves.

Slimani could be the missing part of the jigsaw Wolves need, and if the striker is willing to step down a division for just a few months, he could become a real asset in the Premier League as the club’s main man.
