Tottenham Hotspur boss Nuno Espirito Santo has raved about the ability of attacker Son Heung-min after his goal against Manchester City.

Spurs managed to pull off a superb 1-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday, with Son cutting in from the right flank before firing a left-footed strike past Ederson.

City had no response as Tottenham ran out winners, handing Nuno a dream start to life as Spurs boss.

Few were giving his side a chance against the Premier League champions, especially with no Harry Kane in the team.

Yet whilst all the focus was on Kane, many had seemingly forgotten that Son is a top-drawer forward in his own right and arguably more of a big game player than Kane.

HIs finest work for Tottenham has come as a winger, but Son led the line brilliantly against City, even if he did squander a couple of promising openings with some hesitant play.

Whether Kane stays, goes or continues to be left out, Son will be vital for Nuno – and he has raved about the South Korean’s quality.

Speaking to Football.London, Nuno stated that he thinks Son’s talent is ‘amazing’, branding him a ‘killer’ – but also suggesting that he can improve on his first-half showing against City.

“I think he did well. Sonny and the talent he has is amazing,” said Nuno. “I truly believe that he is versatile enough to play and develop the tasks in all the positions at the front. He’s dynamic, has speed and he knows the game.”

“Like I said before, Sonny is in the moment where he knows and he can find the gaps, the spaces and he’s a killer, a killer. He did ok but I still believe that even in the first half he had actions that he will do better for sure in the future,” he added.
