Oliver Skipp made his first Tottenham Hotspur appearance for a year on Wednesday night.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side warmed up for the upcoming Premier League campaign with a convincing 3-0 win away to Colchester United.
Tottenham sent the 20-year-old midfielder on loan to Norwich City last season and the young midfielder starred, helping Daniel Farke’s side win promotion to the top flight.
Here’s what Nuno said about Skipp’s display when asked:
He told Spurs’ official Twitter account: “We have to be really careful. The doctors were worried because he’s only getting back from injury. We have to be careful, but good for him. It’s always nice to have bodies.”
Big chance
This is a real opportunity for Skipp, who picked up an ankle injury on the final day of the Canaries’ season in May.
With Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko potentially leaving North London, these pre-season games are big chances to play his way into Nuno’s plans.
The Portuguese coach may want more seasoned players in midfield, but Skipp is extremely hungry and he’ll want to break into the Lilywhites’ senior squad.
Football London has already reported this month that Fabio Paratici intends to keep him with the first team throughout the season.
