If there’s one thing Nuno Espirito Santo has learnt from his first weeks at Spurs it’s how quickly things can change in football.
The Tottenham boss was named Manager of the Month just over a fortnight ago, and now, all of a sudden, he might be in a bit of trouble after three shocking results against Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Nuno has gone from being on top of the world to potentially being in serious trouble, and he’s not the only person at Spurs who is currently in the midst of a bit of a crisis.
Indeed, Harry Kane is in the midst of a dreadful run of form at the moment, and unfortunately, it’s doesn’t look like a case of just bad luck for the England skipper.
Perhaps it has something to do with his failed move to Manchester City this summer, but it has to be said that Kane looked a shadow of himself at the weekend. Gary Neville claimed that the striker didn’t look interested in the game, and to be honest, it’s hard to disagree with that view.
Kane was sloppy, his passing was off the mark, leading to Arsenal’s second goal, and his body language made him look like a player who didn’t want to be on the pitch.
The question that now needs to be asked is if Kane can’t get up for a north London derby, which games will he turn up in?
These should be the matches that mean more than any to Kane, but he wasn’t able to take this one by the scruff of the neck.

So, what’s the solution? Nuno can either persevere with his so-called star man and hope he plays his way back into form, or he can take quite a drastic measure and drop him.
In our view, Nuno has to be thinking about dropping Kane now. He’s in poor form and he desperately needs a fire lit under him.
To put it bluntly, Kane needs to have a long, hard look in the mirror, and Nuno dropping him from the starting XI may force him into re-evaluating his current situation. After all, Kane hasn’t been dropped like this in a long time – Jose Mourinho never put him on the bench for a Premier League game during his time at the club.
Spurs have options in attack as well. Bryan Gil looked like a bright spark when he came on, while Heung-Min Son could easily be used as a number nine, and after his bright start to the season, he could actually be a better option at this point.
It would be drastic for Nuno to drop the England captain, but as the old adage goes, desperate times call for desperate measures, and this is certainly a tough moment for Kane.
