Nuno Espirito Santo has given a transfer update as West Ham reportedly move closer to a third signing, with new talks underway for a midfield target.
West Ham fans can finally breathe a little easier as they have broken their winless streak at last.
The Hammers have some time now to enjoy that 2-1 victory over QPR, which secured their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
It was their first win in 11 matches, and it came courtesy of two much-needed moments of brilliance from Crysencio Summerville.
Nuno Espirito Santo will be hoping this result gives his players the confidence they need heading into the final 17 matches of the Premier League season, where they’ll be aiming to pull off a remarkable escape from relegation.
Nuno Espirito Santo provides update on West Ham transfers
Nuno is still pushing for more additions before the window closes. The club has already spent £47 million this month on two new forwards.
Taty Castellanos was one of those signings, and he opened his account with a header from Summerville’s cross that secured the FA Cup win over QPR.
Castellanos put in a strong shift alongside fellow new signing Pablo, giving West Ham a solid presence in the middle.
Nuno spoke about their impact and hinted that more signings could be on the way.
“They (Pablo and Taty) bring us more options,” Nuno told West Ham’s website. “We are trying to rebalance the squad. We still need bodies, but (the QPR win) was a very important day for us.”
The latest concerns are around the back line. Konstantinos Mavropanos picked up a neck injury that looked serious, and Nuno may need to move quickly to bring in cover.

Mavropanos’ injury came from an awkward fall against QPR, leaving him with what Nuno described as ‘a lot of pain’. He’ll need time before the full extent is known.
There have already been links to centre-backs like Charlie Cresswell, but current rumours suggest another midfielder could arrive first.
The club has been linked with several options after both Guido Rodriguez and Lucas Paqueta were mentioned as possible departures. It’s shaping up to be a busy end to the window for West Ham.
West Ham make fresh move for Alpha Toure
Now, it seems West Ham are getting closer to landing Alpha Toure from Metz after holding new discussions.
L’Equipe reports that the club has returned with a new offer for the young Senegalese talent, after an initial £5m bid was turned down last week.
Toure, who is just 19 years old, has played in every Ligue 1 match for Metz this season.
The report says West Ham are serious about bringing him in and have come back with a stronger second bid.
One of the most appealing aspects of Toure’s game is his versatility. While primarily a defensive midfielder, he can also fill in at centre-back — an area where West Ham are now thin on options due to recent injuries.
Known for his athleticism and physical presence, Toure has the tools to make an impact if he can settle quickly into the squad.
