Wolves were beaten 1-0 by the Terriers in Tuesday night’s Premier League meeting at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo has expressed his disappointment after Premier League strugglers Huddersfield Town ran out 1-0 winners in Tuesday night’s game at the John Smith’s Stadium.
The visitors’ eight-match unbeaten run came to an end in West Yorkshire after Steve Mounie’s last-minute winner for the Terriers, giving the league’s bottom side three valuable points in their battle against relegation.
Wolves, meanwhile, remain eighth in the table, level on points with Watford but having played one game more, and although it’s been a superb season for them so far, the fact that Huddersfield have done the double on them is sure to leave a bitter taste in the mouth.
Nuno remained stoic following the disappointing loss, insisting nothing is to change in terms of tactics or personnel, and that the team’s “spirit and identity” revolves around seeking to improve whether results are good or bad.
“We are very cautious that what happened today cannot happen again, we have to improve,” he told the official Wolves website. “There are many reasons and our job is to look for solutions for the next one.
“Consistency in football is very difficult. We have to try to the end. We came from a good run, today was not the best performance that we can have, but we have to bounce back Saturday.”
Although the majority of the Wolves fanbase is pleased with how Nuno and the team are doing, there were some murmurs of discontent on Twitter in response to his post-match comments, one theme being his refusal to utilise Adama Traore:
Up next for Wanderers is a Premier League meeting with another struggling side, Cardiff City, at Molineux on Saturday.
